TV documentary series - The Alliance
On 27 June 2021, the second series of the TV documentary, The Alliance, commenced broadcasting on Sky News.
Episode 1 examines the origins of the alliance and explores what is referred to as, ‘100 Years of Mateship’. It contends that this began with John Monash commanding USA troops at the Battle of Hamel on 4 July 1918.
This episode also includes interviews with author Roland Perry (a John Monash biographer) and Michael Bennett (a great-grandson of John Monash).
This documentary is being undertaken to coincide with the 70th Anniversary of the ANZUS Treaty.
